About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Air Export Agent to join their New Jersey team. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing air export shipments while serving as the primary point of contact between customers, overseas partners, customs brokers, and air carriers.
The ideal candidate will have hands‑on air export experience and strong CargoWise knowledge, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate end‑to‑end air export shipments from booking through final departure
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers, overseas offices, customs brokers, and carriers
- Open and manage shipment files in CargoWise for each export transaction
- Prepare, review, and process export documentation including invoices, shipping manifests, and airway bills
- Ensure compliance with export regulations, tariffs, and customs requirements
- Assess charges, bill shipments accurately, and ensure timely fee collection
- Resolve shipment issues, delays, and discrepancies through proactive communication
- Negotiate and coordinate solutions between domestic and international stakeholders as needed
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of air export freight forwarding experience
- CargoWise experience is REQUIRED
- Strong understanding of air export documentation and compliance requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with international customers and overseas agents
- Prior experience coordinating shipments through major U.S. gateways
- Familiarity with customs processes and export regulations
